Thermographic Surveys

Thermographic Surveys

Acrise Electrical Services can carry out thermographic surveys on all of your electrical and mechanical equipment.

This can often be done without having to isolate supplies or shut down plant, minimising down time and being operationally convienient.

Thermographic surveys play a vital role in maintaining your electrical, mechanical and fire safety in a way that is not otherwise possible.

A thermographic survey is a visual investigation, carried out by a qualified engineer, with a specialist, calibrated  thermographic camera, to detect abnormally high temperatures, detecting infrared heat not visible to the eye, within an electrical or mechanical installation.

A higher than normal temperature indicates a problem within a system or component that could have serious consequences if allowed to escalate. These abnormal temperatures are not visible to the eye.

Equipment that can be inspected:

  • Distribution boards
  • Electrical terminations
  • Motors
  • Bearings
  • Conveyors
  • Protective devices
  • Control panels
  • Cooloing, Supply and extract fans
  • Wiring systems
  • Transformers
  • Under floor heating faults

This is normally carried out once a year as part of a pre planned maintenance regeime. A thermographic survey can highlight electrical and mechanical equipment and components that are starting to fail, before they actually fail.

This allows for a planned shutdown to carry out the repair and maintenance when convienient, minimising costly shutdowns, and faliure causing damage to other equipment or components.

We do not uses a cheap phone add-on or basic compact camera, you can be assured you are getting an accurate assement of your equipment, and the temperature it is operating at.

Once complete a report will be issued highlighting areas of concern.
